Mary Poppins Pick for 5/31/10

Today's "practically perfect", "tip of the top" & cream of the crop pick is a set of musically themed coasters from Retrowhale. That shop consistently makes me want to have more money in my bank account. I love the way all the band names are illustrated quite literally: that piece of red velvet cake is indeed buried underground.
For kicks (& because I feel like doing so), I'm going to think of my favorite songs by all the bands featured on the coasters: The Cure - "Close to Me", "Six Different Ways" or "Just Like Heaven"; Journey - "Lovin', Touchin' & Squeezin'"; Radiohead - "(Nice Dream)"; Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here"; The Beatles - "Why Don't We Do It In the Road", "Mean Mr. Mustard", "The Ballad of John & Yoko", "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da", "Oh Darling" & "Eight Days A Week"; The Kinks - "Sunny Afternoon" or "Lola"; The Cars - "Let the Good Times Roll"; The Rolling Stones - "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Gimme Shelter", "Beast of Burden", "Not Fade Away" & "Jumpin' Jack Flash"; The Doors - "Roadhouse Blues"; Velvet Underground - "Oh Sweet Nothin'"; Queen - "You're My Best Friend" & "Under Pressure"; and The Who - "Baba O'Riley", "Squeeze Box" & "Gettin' In Tune".
I enjoyed that.
